First of all, we welcome other sites to link to our pages as long as it is not done with malicious or harmful intent. We will be diligent in providing only accurate and helpful information that is consistent with national goals as set forth by the National Right to Life Committee, of which we are Minnesota's sole affiliate.
MCCL limits links to other sites because they can impose several burdens upon us as an organization. MCCL strives to be professional and accurate in the information we provide to our members and to the general public.
The content of external pages to which we link is beyond our control and could become a liability for us. For instance, some Web sites may take positions on issues that are different from ours and a link could imply that we are in agreement with those views. MCCL has deliberately adopted a very narrow focus that does not involve sectarian religious views or issues relating to conservative or liberal ideology.
Another burden is a practical matter. Web sites regularly change their content. If we link to a site, the material contained there may be changed without any notice to us. New material found there could advocate a view that is not helpful or could even be harmful to our goals. If we link a site we must monitor it constantly, unless we are very certain that the site will not produce materials that are not helpful to a unified strategy advancing protections for all innocent human life.
If we are asked to link to another site, we must first become comfortable with that Web site. This requires monitoring the site over time and checking with others in the movement as to the nature of the Web site and the accuracy of the material it produces. Out of courtesy, we will ask permission from the site to link to their materials.
MCCL occasionally links to other sites if we feel the material is relevant to a particular issue and we feel comfortable with the source. However, even in those cases, our link does not necessarily reflect our full agreement with materials found at that site, nor the goals of the organization that produced it.
Visitors to a linked site should be aware that we cannot control the content of the linked site and that it is subject to change without any notice to us.
