Guttmacher Institute (PP's statistical arm) says 2012 is the second biggest year for passage of pro-life laws.
Time magazine says abortionists are losing the battle.
"The right-to-life movement is a movement of love," declared keynote speaker National Right to Life President Carol Tobias, who lauded MCCL's leadership in the pro-life movement. The 2013 MCCL Legislative Dinner brought together lawmakers and constituents for an evening of education and inspiration. About 30 state legislators attended.
Tobias emphasized the importance of pro-life legislation to save lives and educate citizens. She also refuted the claim that abortion is good for women, citing dangerous "webcam abortions," unlicensed abortion facilities, and sex-selection abortions targeting baby girls. "How is that pro-woman?" she asked.
MCCL also highlighted its pro-life successes over the past 40 years of legalized abortion on demand. Held at the historic Landmark Center in St. Paul at the start of each legislative biennium, the MCCL Legislative Dinner helps solidify relationships between pro-lifers and lawmakers.
mccl march for life held!
More than 2,000 brave pro-lifers gathered in the cold on Jan. 22 to call for an end to the greatest injustice of our time. The MCCL March for Life was held at noon in solidarity with the most defenseless of human beings—those who are still in the womb. See photos from the 2013 March.
MCCL and pro-life citizens called on lawmakers to do the right thing by banning taxpayer funded abortions, repealing the Family Cap, and licensing abortion facilities.
Many lives have been saved from abortion over the last 40 years, but the killing of unborn children is still legal. More than 11,000 unborn babies are killed by abortion in Minnesota every year. And the state spends more than $1.4 million a year to pay for elective abortions.
You can help save lives by contacting your state legislators and urging them to support MCCL's 2013 legislative agenda. Thank you to all who marched for justice, for human rights, for life!
