MINNEAPOLIS — In response to today’s U.S. Supreme Court decision blocking lower court rulings on the abortion drug mifepristone, MCCL Co-Executive Director Cathy Blaeser issued the following statement:
“Although the abortion drug will remain on the market for now, this case is far from over. Mifepristone was improperly approved and then dangerously expanded at the expense of women’s safety. Research has shown that chemical abortions are four times riskier than surgical ones. And when the drug is sent through the mail without a doctor’s visit, as the Biden administration now allows, the risks only increase. We hope that the courts will recognize these dangers and act in the best interest of women and their unborn children.”
